Please add any updates you know of in the comments section below.

After days without power, several Westfield establishments are getting back up and running.

Sherry Cronin, executive director of the Downtown Westfield Corporation, said crews have been working to make repairs to the substations that were affected by Hurricane Sandy. Today, she explained they are working on "the circuits" and tomorrow, Saturday, Nov. 3, work will begin on the power lines.

Cronin was given Nov. 11 as a "worst case scenario" date for restoration.

"We should start to see more crews working in the area over the weekend," said Cronin, who was distributing informational flyers to businesses Friday afternoon. "I can't speak for the residential areas."

Many businesses are trying to re-open using flashlights and making the most of daylight hours.
