Westfield Businesses Get Ready for Girls’ Night Out, April 18

Over 90 businesses participating!

The Downtown Westfield Corporation (DWC) is pleased to once again sponsor Girls Night Out in Westfield, NJ on Thursday, April 18, 2013, from 5pm-9pm. This event will be held rain or shine. 

Among the special events, The Farmhouse Store will be having a book signing with five of the contributing authors of the humor book I Just Want to Pee Alone. 37 mom bloggers share why motherhood is the toughest and funniest job on the planet. Stop into the Digiplex Rialto theater for a chance to win movie tickets. Enjoy complimentary massages at Keller Williams. Sample Santa Armosa wines at Cool Vines and hors d’oeuvres at Robert Treat Delicatessen. Try a free sample of handmade Griggstown Farm Chicken Pot Pie at Alan’s Orchard. Enjoy free ice cream at Cold Stone and Nathan’s Famous Hotdog, free yogurt at Let’s Yo! Yogurt, and buy one get one free at Swirl Whirl. 

Most of the retailers will be offering discounts off purchases that evening plus refreshments. For example, I to eye is having a Ray-Ban trunk show with 20% off your purchase, Sole Shoes will offer 20% off plus refreshments.

 Many restaurants are offering specials to the ladies that night as well. Jeffrey’s is offering $5 cosmos and springtime martinis with half price select appetizers. Aquaviva is offering a special menu with $5 appetizers and $7 martinis, mixed drinks and wine. Chez Catherine is having a 3-course ladies menu for $25 from 5-7pm. Get 10% off at Cosimo’s, and $10 off your check at Limani Seafood. Xocolatz is giving gifts cards for a free appetizer. 

The DWC has partnered with Jude Connelly to provide a fabulous gift for the first 1,000 registered ladies. Registrants should begin the evening at The Turning Point Restaurant, located at 137 Central Ave., to pick up their gift and other sponsor goodies.

Live jazz band Watson will provide entertainment along with the Florian Schantz Jazz Combo. The 'Mens' Night Out' component of Girls' Night Out will be present, featuring chivalrous local dignitaries and volunteers greeting women at the event and opening doors for them outside downtown shops.
