Robert Treat Fourth of July Menu Attracts Customers

The deli is offering a special menu for the holiday.

On the Fourth of July many people gather for backyard barbeques to celebrate the nation's birthday. Some will make many of the dishes themselves while others choose to cater part or all of the festivities, including utilizing Robert Treat Delicatessen.

Robert Treat’s catering menus are designed for “all occasions and everything offered on the catering menus are homemade,” according to long time owner Mary Kasich. On Fourth of July, the deli is offering one of their most popular special menus.

“We are featuring a homemade barbeque menu that includes ribs, country fried chicken, and an assortment of chicken wings," Kasich said.

The chicken wings and chicken fingers come alongside special dipping sauces.

In addition to the barbeque menu, fruit trays and a large variety of desserts are also popular with Fourth of July customers. According to Kasich, the apple and blueberry cakes are popular items as they are baked fresh daily by her brother in-law.

There are few businesses in Westfield quite as unique as Robert Treat Delicatessen, which has been serving hungry customers since 1932. Robert Treat is an old-fashioned deli and it has seen a mere two owners in its long lustrous history.

Robert Treat has retained a loyal catering following in Westfield and surrounding communities, in addition to the in-house customers. The store sees a large breakfast crowd starting at 5:30 a.m. and lunchtime regulars.

Customers have the opportunity to purchase fresh turkey that is made and sliced daily.

“Our turkey is a very popular item and we prepare a homemade turkey every day,” Kasich said.
