Get the Scoop! Let's YO! Yogurt Opens in Westfield

Doors open at 11 a.m. at 121 East Broad Street in Westfield

With spring less than a week away, Westfield's newest frozen treat shop is opening its doors at 121 East Broad St in Westfield today.

Let's YO! owners, Kelly and Carmine Celendano, of Monroe Township, said they are thrilled to begin serving customers and have their 15-year-old yogurt-loving daughter Kristen to thank for it.

"She's the one who really introduced us to this whole frozen yogurt craze," said Kelly. "She started it all."

Originally from Brooklyn, the couple, intrigued by the potential of opening their own shop, attended a food expo at the Jacob Javits Center in Manhattan and that's where they first became acquainted with the Let's YO! chain.

"We liked what they had to say and the rest is history," said Kelly, who added that when looking for franchise locations they "stumbled upon Westfield and fell in love with it."

“Growing with a brand like Let’s YO! in Westfield was a simple decision, and I am thrilled to offer the local community a healthy dessert option,” said Carmine in a press release. “Each day, we feature new dessert combinations and flavors made from the highest-quality ingredients. Customers can explore all the different options at Let’s YO! and know they are getting the best in frozen yogurt.”

In addition to what she feels is a "superior product," Kelly said Let's YO! also has "a cool vibe." Mixing a multitude of mouth-watering toppings with social media is what sets the shop apart, according to the owners.

"It's almost like an Apple store," Kelly said. "We've got nine iPads and TVs going. One television is devoted to Facebook and Twitter and we'll be updating the flavors every day so you can check that."

“We provide consumers with an exciting atmosphere unlike anything they have seen before,” Carmine added. “Every consumer is treated to a unique frozen yogurt experience by indulging in their favorite frozen-yogurt flavor while enjoying a hip, social environment.”

Priced at 49 cents an ounce, customers can step right up and serve themselves. For those who prefer a warm concoction, Let's YO! features a coffee station offering dark and light brews as well as decaf coffee options.

"We don't have characters on the walls for little kids and the music isn't blaring for teens," said Kelly. "But there's a little something in the store for every age group."

The new venture is a family affair, added Kelly, who noted that Kristen and the couple's other daughter Caitlin, 18, a student at Rutgers, are "very enthusiastic" about the business and can't wait to begin working there this summer.

Let's YO! will open daily at 11 a.m. and close at 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday. On Friday and Saturday Let's YO! will remain open until 11 p.m. To apply for a job, visit Let's YO!'s website.
