ABC's 'The Taste's Andre Mack to Visit CoolVines Saturday

Mack is back with wine, art and plenty of enthusiasm.

Fresh from his television debut as a guest mentor on ABC's primetime cooking show 'The Taste,' winemaker, sommelier and artist André Mack will stop by Westfield's CoolVines from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday, March 2.

"André is the epitome of all that is fun and hip in the wine world," said CoolVine's Lauren Ramos. "His talent and creativity are unsurpassed. He seamlessly blends wine and pop culture in such an edgy and unique way. You find yourself saying, 'Man, he just went there, didn't he?' and you can't help but go along for the ride...and enjoy every bit of it!"

The first African American to win the title of Best Young Sommelier in America, Mack is no stranger to the Central Avenue wine shop. The oenophile, whom The Huffington Post referred to the "purveyor of good times," paid CoolVines a visit last June as part of the store's Art & Wine series.

Owner of Mouton Noir Wines, Mack left behind a successful career with Citicorp Investment Services to pursue his passion for winemaking and hasn't looked back. He was recently interviewed by The Wall Street Journal for his approach to winemaking and his business expertise.

During his visit to CoolVines, Mack will be signing some of his artwork and t-shirts as well as sharing his thoughts on wines and daring pairings.

"My hope is to present wine as a compliment to modern lifestyles by essentially taking it back to its original context. It should be used as an everyday luxury and sit on the dinner table with the condiments and seasonings," he told Insight News.com
