FRIENDLY AND SMART LOCAL PIT BULL NEEDS A LOVING FAMILY
Last month, you may have seen our post regarding Clark, the pit bull that actually jumped into the back seat of the car of the president of our rescue.  He sure knew how to pick the right girl!
Since that time we have advertised to find his family, to no avail.  We currently have him housed in a local boarding facility and are now looking for a family to take Clark in on a foster or permanent basis.
Clark is a feisty 3-5 year old male.  He knows basic obedience commands and is happy and willing to learn.  Beyond his basic obedience lessons, Clark was not taught much about personal space and household rules so his new owner(s) must be willing to spend some time teaching him about manners.  He is curious about other dogs and once introduced, has done well with other dogs he has met.
Not knowing Clark's history, we had him evaluated for by a trainer for temperament, etc.  He is willing to please and understands the relationship between person and dog, once established, and we believe he will make a great addition to the right family.  Because Clark is strong, young, and requires training, it is not recommended that he be adopted by a family with young children.  It will be a while before he understands that a child's cookie is not his cookie!  He's playful and a bit of a bull dozer so a family that is stable on their feet is a plus!!!  :)
What Clark really needs more than anything is someone to love him.  If you are a lover of pit bulls, he's your guy.  If you're a lover of big strong dogs, he's your guy.
We've got lots of good things to share about Clark.  He pulls on our heart strings every day.  It's hard for me to write about him without getting choked-up because, at first glance, he can be intimidating, like most pits.  But when you meet him and get to know him you know in your heart that he is a good, loyal boy and his life is worth saving.
We can't carry boarding costs indefinitely, so please share this blog and information about Clark to help him find a loving home.
