What's Happening Around Town Tonight?

From Halloween-themed events to varsity volleyball, there's plenty going on to make you forget all about the impending storm.

The following is a list of events happening around town this evening:

New Jersey Youth Theatre (NJYT) will host a “Comedy and Costumes” fundraiser to benefit NJYT’s school Cabaret, summer production and its performing arts education classes. The evening of laughs begins at 7 p.m. at The Crossroads in Garwood and will feature the talents of comedians who have performed extensively in clubs in the tri-state area and around the country. Number-one seeded Westfield High School Girls Varsity Volleyball Team takes on #2 seeded Roselle Catholic at 7:30 p.m. at Kean University in the Union County championship game. Come on out and show your support for the team.

A cast and crew of over 100 middle school students will bring Romeo and Juliet Together (and Alive!) at Last to the Edison Intermediate School stage at 7:30 p.m. tonight. Tickets are $8 at the door.

Hedgehog and Feather Theatre Co. presents some spooky family fun with a Creature Double Feature: Frankenstein - Dracula presented at 7:30 p.m. at St. Paul's Episcopal Church. All tickets are $15. Doors open at 7 p.m. Hedgehog and Feather invites attendees to come early for some eerie fun.

Speaking of Halloween, Jeffrey's of Westfield has transformed its restaurant into a haunted dining room. Complete with costumed servers, the Central Avenue eatery is serving up some Halloween-themed entrees and festive desserts as well as spirits (get it?). Reservations are recommended, especially for large parties. The passion of Spanish Flamenco comes to the stage at the intimate Galeria West Art & Music Gallery in downtown Westfield from 7:30 to 9 p.m. This new monthly concert performance event with acclaimed flamenco singer and guitarist David Castellano and his cast of special guest dancers and musicians celebrates this internationally popular music and dance genre from Spain on the last Friday of each month. Tickets are priced at $20 for adults and $10 for children.
