Girls' Night Out Expected to Draw More Than 1,600

Grab the girls and hit the town on Oct. 17.

The Westfield’s Girls’ Night Out event will be held on Oct. 17 in downtown Westfield, rain or shine.

Since 2011, the Downtown Westfield Corp., which hosts the event, has received an overwhelming response for Girls’ Night Out. The evening continues to be a success, according to the DWC.

“The evening has become a semi-annual event that residents and local business owners look forward to,” said Sherry Cronin, Executive Director of the DWC. “The event continues to grow in popularity—both for the participants and the number of involved businesses. In the Spring, 33 percent of the ladies came from Westfield, while 153 New Jersey towns and five other states were represented. We hope that this time the turnout is as large and diverse.”

Local businesses will provide a special evening of shopping, refreshments, entertainment, gifts, sales and more. The first 1,000 women to register will receive a complimentary gift sponsored by the DWC.  Barnabas Health – Saint Barnabas Medical Center will be this Girls’ Night Out’s bag sponsor.

The men are not forgotten in the Girls’ Night Out event. A chivalrous component will be added to the evening featuring local dignitaries and volunteers greeting women and opening doors for them.

The event runs from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. More information and registration is available on Westfield Today. http://www.westfieldtoday.com/girlsnightout
