The Continuo Arts Foundation plans an exciting season with outstanding local, national, and international opportunities for area singers, with Candace Wicke as Principal Artistic Director and Conductor.  Rehearsals begin with an  Open House Sing In on Tuesday, September 11th...  It is free and open to all interested community singers. Bring friends and family! All may “sit in-and sing”. Rehearsal times: Children’s Chorus (4:30-5:30 p.m.), Chanticleers (5:00 – 6:00 p.m.) Singers and Continuos (5:30-7pm) and Civic Chorale (7:30-9p.m.).

The Foundation’s intergenerational choral program includes a Children’s Chorus (ages 6-13), The Chanticleers (girls 13-15) Continuo Arts Singers (girls 15-18), The Continuos (boys14-18), the Civic Chorale for adult singers.  Rehearsals are held on Tuesdays at the Historic Twin Maples Estate, 214 Springfield Ave. in Summit, NJ.  New singers should call for an audition time, however no auditions are required for existing members.

 

Continuo Arts Seniors Sing!, is a light-hearted choral program for senior citizens which meets 11-12 noon on Wednesdays at the Summit Community Center. Sponsored in part by the Summit Area Public Foundation and the Manley Winser Foundation, Seniors Sing! is presented free of charge to area singers who love to or have ever wanted to sing!  Current members hail from Summit, Westfield, Short Hills, Berkeley Heights, New Providence, Cranford, Milburn, Morristown, Chatham and Madison.

The Continuo Arts Foundation offers opportunities for singers and musicians of all ages from six to past sixty, locally and around the world.  Founded in 2007 by Candace Wicke, The Continuo Arts Foundation and Choruses have already made a mark on the international artistic scene in such notable venues as Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center and  the Strathmore Music Center. Members this year have the opportunity to travel to and perform in Rome, Vatican City and Prague, in addition to local concert series and community service appearances.

The Continuo Arts Foundation, a non-profit 501-c-3 organization receives support from memberships, individual donors, corporations and foundations.  Its recent programs have been supported by the Manley Winser Foundation, Summit Area Public Foundation, a Union County H.E.A.R.T grant, Coldwell Banker Residential Brokers, the Grand Summit Hotel, Investors Bank, Overlook Medical Center and many other patrons of the arts.
