This weekend offers the opportunity to get into the spirit of the season with Halloween fun, an apple fest and craft fairs.
The weather is cooler and the leaves are starting to turn into a colorful background for spooky Halloween happenings. There is something for everyone on the calendar this weekend and it promises to be a lot of fun.
There are craft fairs that offer the opportunity to start your holiday shopping early with unique homemade gifts.

CDC Theatre Presents: The Rocky Horror Show
This event is for mature, 13 yrs and older and is guaranteed to be a spooky good time. Richard O’Brien’s cult classic is a haunting view just in time for Halloween. $25.00/person – 8 p.m. – Cranford
“Creature Double Feature: Frankenstein – Dracula”
St. Paul’s Episcopal Church is hosting a double feature of spooking fun for everyone. The doors will open at 7 p.m. for some pre-show spooky fun with the main attraction beginning at 7:30 p.m. This event will also take place on Oct. 26th & 27th at the same time. $15.00/person – 7 p.m. – Westfield

Westfield Historical Society – Apple Fest
The Westfield Historical Society presents the 4th Annual Apple Fest fundraiser. This will take place on the lawn of The Reeve House with a rain date of Sunday, October 21st. $5.00/person – 12 noon to 4 p.m. - Westfield
This fun fair/pet adoption event will feature adorable pets ready to be adopted, a bake sale, vendors, face painting, mobile clinic, pet communicators and so much more. Free – 10 a.m. to 3 p.m – Scotch Plains.
Halloween at The Ice Hut
Come dressed in your costume and get ready to boggie down with VIP Disc Jockeys. This is a fun filled day for everyone with music, games, trick-or-treating and so much more. Free – 2:30 p.m. – Springfield
Red Ribbon Drug Awareness Event and Family Fun Day
Red Ribbon Day is Union County’s Annual Drug Awareness Event that features fun for the entire family all in the cause of raising awareness about preventing drug and alcohol abuse. Oak Ridge Park is the event’s location and a 5K Run and Family Fun Walk will also take place. Free – 11 a.m. - Clark

Craft Fair - Cranford
The Azure Chapter #87 of the Eastern Star is hosting a Vendor-Craft Fair offering seasonal items, homemade crafts and so much more. Free – 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. – Cranford
Craft Fair – New Providence
The Friends of the New Providence Memorial Library will host the 8th Annual Craft Fair. Items for sale will include wood toys, banks, fused glass on metal items and so much more created by local artists. Free – 10 a.m. – New Providence
