This weekend offers a number of events for you and your family to enjoy. You can attend the opening reception at the Visual Arts Center of NJ or maybe you would like to jam at one of the live music performances.
The fun continues at the 16th Annual Antique/Classic Car Show and there is an old fashion Clambake at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 355. Expect a three-alarm fire in your mouth when you sample the chili cook off. Join local fireman as they cheer on their local firehouse chefs.

The Visual Arts Center of New Jersey is hosting an opening reception for their fall exhibits. Items on display will include Picture Takers, Susan Hamburger: Creeping Ornamentalism, Margaret Murphy: Memory Theater, and works from painting students of Enrique Flore-Galbis. Free – 6 p.m. – Summit
The Fortnightly Club of Summit and the Junior Fortnightly Club is hosting a Tango Night with live musical performances. A complimentary introduction class, snacks and coffee are included in admission. $20.00/person – 8 p.m. – Summit

The Best Western Murray Hill Inn presents The Laura Hull Jazz Duo. Her warm and welcoming style and new spin on classic oldies, ensures that everyone enjoys the show. Free – 6:30 p.m. – New Providence
Twenty-five firehouses will compete in the chili cook off and the winner will take home the “braggers bowl.” Proceeds will go to the Atlantic Regional Firefighters Burn Foundation. $10.00/person – 11 a.m. – Westfield
Bring your family to an old fashion BBQ/Clambake at the VFW Post 355! Items on the menu to include hotdogs, hamburgers, sausage, clams and much more. $20.00/person – 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. – Cranford
Sunday
Cruise over to see some really cool cars at the 16th Annual Summit Antique/Classic Car Show. There will be a DJ playing music from the 50’s and 60’s and trophies will be awarded for best car. Free – 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. – Summit
