SAT, NJ ASK Prep Offered at UCC

The weekend programs are offered for students 11-17.

Sign up now for weekend programs offered for youth ages 11 – 17 on Union County College’s Cranford campus. Both academic and recreational classes will be offered and most classes start in early February and will take place on Saturday mornings.

A series of test-prep classes will be offered including SAT prep and NJ ASK prep. The SAT class will be offered for both verbal and math sections and this test prep course will teach important test-taking strategies. These classes will be taught by experienced NJ-certified teachers.

The NJ ASK prep classes will be offered for students in grades 5 – 8 and the course will help prepare students for the skills needed on the state exam. These classes will also cover test-taking strategies. All of the test prep classes start on February 2.

For students ages 11 -13, additional classes offered include The Artist Within, Design Your Own Comic Book, Guitar (Beginning and Intermediate), Writing Rollercoaster, and Pre-Algebra with Word Problems.

For students ages 14 – 17, classes offered include Write for College, Be a Leader: The Competitive Edge, Teen Finance Workshops (includes basic banking, balancing a budget, and credit cards and credit scores), Writer’s Workshop, Cartooning, and ServSafe for Teens. A new class, Write for College, helps students hone their writing skills in preparation for college and also teaches how to avoid plagiarism, conduct online research, and organize ideas for effective writing.

All classes are affordable and are taught by highly qualified instructors, most of whom are NJ-certified school teachers. The College’s Cranford campus is located at 1033 Springfield Avenue.
