Garden Club of Westfield to Celebrate 90th Anniversary

The reception will be held at Echo Lake Country Club.

Jane Curtis, co-president of the Garden Club of Westfield, announced that the club will celebrate its 90th anniversary with a luncheon on Tuesday, Oct. 30 at Echo Lake Country Club.

Curtis, who spoke at Tuesday evening's meeting of the Westfield Town Council, explained that proceeds from the luncheon will support continuing development and maintenance of its community gardens in Mindowaskin Park, the Blue Star Garden in Tamaques Park, as well as ongoing plantings at the Reeve House. Additionally, the Club plants seasonal displays at the intersection of East Broad and Elm Streets. The Garden Club also funds a college scholarship in honor of one of its former members.

Preceding the noon luncheon will be a boutique and basket raffle. Tickets, priced at $50, can be obtained from ticket chair Marilyn Bunting through Oct. 19.
