Do You Know Your ABCs?

The school bell is ringing at the Miller-Cory House Museum! Don’t be absent for “Do You Know Your ABCs?”
The program begins with a colorful display of ABC related items – books, games, lunch boxes and more. Then, visitors are invited to the museum’s Education Center to re-enact a colonial school day, complete with hard wooden benches, slates, horn books, chores, and discipline. (Make sure you don’t get told to wear the dunce cap!) “Students” will also be taught about the many differences between 18th century education and today’s.
Sunday’s program includes tours by costumed docents. In the museum’s Frazee Building, members of the Cooking Committee will demonstrate authentic open-hearth cooking using 18th century foods, techniques, and ABC recipes.
