CoolVines Tasting Supports Winery Destroyed by Sandy

CoolVines partnered with Savory Spice Shop to create special gifts packs.

CoolVines is inviting the public to stop by its Central Avenue store to "Sip to Save" from 7 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 15.

"We're having our friend Anthony Austin from Angels' Share Wine Imports come and do a tasting of the Red Hook wines," said CoolVines Lauren Ramos.

The Brooklyn-based winery was completely destroyed during Hurricane Sandy and the only way for them to raise enough money to get back on their feet is to sell through the stock that is in their warehouse, which was unharmed, she explained.

"We have special gift packs available which we've collaborated with Savory Spice Shop to create. We'll also have noshes for nibbling and a wrapping station open where we can customize any arrangement of the Red Hook wines. It's a great way to taste some remarkable wines that are nearing extinction, quantities are limited...they never made more than a few hundred cases of anything, and to help preserve this local gem."

CoolVines will also have cheese pairings from Alan's Orchard and samplings from Casa di Pizza to enjoy while you taste and shop.

Also: Receive 10% off on all the wines being tasted and 15% off on all mixed cases of Red Hook wines.
