Westfield Resident Michael Mulry Receives 9/11 Educ Grant

Michael Mulry, a High School Social Studies Teacher in the North Plainfield, NJ School District and a resident of Westfield, has been selected as a For Action Initiative Fellow. The “For Action Initiative” advances the educational mission of the Families of September 11.

He and his four teammates will receive $4,000 to develop programs that help educators, K-12 students, and other members of the school community explore world politics and the roots of terrorism.

Mr. Mulry says, "This fellowship and the opportunities it offers will allow us to reach our students in ways that the traditional classroom cannot provide. We will be able to move forward with several projects that will not only positively affect the high school but will impact the North Plainfield community as a whole. We are excited to get started and see where this journey will take us over the course of the next year."
