Westfield Memorial Library Now Offers Magazine Collection Online

The Westfield Memorial Library, in partnership with RBdigital from Recorded Books, is pleased to announce the availability of Zinio for Libraries. Awarded Best New Database of 2012 by Library Journal, Zinio is the world’s largest newsstand, offering multi-user access to popular publications.

Through the library’s website www.wmlnj.org, patrons of Westfield will have unlimited simultaneous access to complete digital magazines, which can easily be viewed on any Internet-enabled device inside or outside of the library.

Zinio’s unique technology digitally recreates a magazine page for page, including full color pictures, intuitive navigation, key word article search and interactive elements such as audio and video.

Currently, Westfield has 24 magazines available through Zinio, including “Cosmopolitan,” “Men’s Health,” “Ladies Home Journal,” “O, The Oprah Magazine,” “Readers Digest,” “Esquire,” “Kiplinger’s Personal Finance,” “Popular Science,” “Newsweek” and “Rolling Stone.”

Library Director Phil Israel said, “We are thrilled to be offering Zinio to our patrons as it is revolutionizing reading. There are no holds, no waiting, and no checkout periods. Readers can move seamlessly within each publication page between text, interactive graphics, animated illustrations, videos and much more.”

Zinio can be accessed through PC’s, MAC’s, iPhones, iPads, Androids, Kindle Fire/FireHD, Nook HD/HD+, Windows 8, and Blackberry Playbook.

Founded in 1879, the Westfield Memorial Library—the community’s destination for discovery and ideas—engages minds, entertains spirits and facilitates lifelong learning for people of all ages. Hours are 9:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday; 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Friday and Saturday; and closed on Sunday until September 22.
