WESTFIELD AREA Y PRESCHOOL HOSTS OPEN HOUSE

The Westfield Area Y is hosting two Preschool Open Houses on Wednesday, April 9th at the Robert & Virginia Bauer Family Branch located at 422 East Broad Street in Westfield.  The first one is at 9:30 am and the second one is at 1:30 pm.  Tours of the Preschool classrooms will be given and questions regarding the various Y Preschool programs, curriculum and schedules for the 2014-2015 school year will be answered by certified staff.

The Westfield Area Y Preschool is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and includes a half day of programming that follows “The Creative Curriculum for Early Childhood” and “Handwriting without Tears” into their daily lesson plans.  The most important goal is to help the children become enthusiastic learners and encourage them to be active and creative explorers who are not afraid to try out their ideas and to think their own thoughts.  Creative Curriculum content areas include:  Literacy, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Arts, Technology, Healthy Habits and Character Development.  Enrichment options such as cooking, ceramics, science and computers are also available.

The Time for Twos, Almost Threes and Almost Fours classes include music specials.  Fun for Fours and More for Fours includes Spanish and gym instruction.  All afternoon classes include two sessions of swimming each week.
