WESTFIELD AREA Y OFFERS WORKING PARENTS OF KINDERGARTENERS AN EXTENDED DAY OF FUN AND LEARNING

The Westfield Area Y has a program especially designed for working parents with a child in the Westfield Lincoln School Kindergarten for the 2014-2015 school year.

Children begin the day at the Main Y Facility at either 7:00 or 8:40AM.  The Kindergarten wraparound program includes a nurturing learning component, weekly swim lessons, daily gym and/or playground time, and time for lunch (hot lunch available). Students then ride the bus, supervised by Y staff, to Lincoln School.  A Westfield Area Y afternoon complement program is held at Lincoln until 6:00PM.

Utilizing the Creative Curriculum®, the program is rooted in educational philosophy and theory as well as in practice. It focuses on how children develop and learn, based on their individual interests, the learning environment and the role of the teacher.  The Healthy U program is also incorporated teaching kids that eating healthy and being physically active can be fun.
