The Westfield Area Y is pleased to announce the addition of a Barre Class to their fall group fitness schedule at the Main Y Facility, 220 Clark Street in Westfield. Body Barre will be offered Sunday mornings from10:15-11:10 am beginning September 8th. This class utilizes disciplines from yoga, ballet and Pilates for a full body workout and targets all major muscle groups, toning and lengthening the muscles using variations of exercises that the body is accustomed to from other fitness modalities.
Power Box Circuit is offered this fall at the Main Y Facility on Wednesdays from 7:30 pm -8:45 pm beginning September 4th and on Mondays at 7:00 pm – 7:55 pm beginning September 9th. Power Box Circuit is a unique and challenging experience that builds strength, improves conditioning and is fun. In this class, you will learn the basics of the "sweet science" of boxing in a safe controlled environment. Whether you are trying to achieve personal fitness goals or just let off some steam after a hard day of work then this class is for you. Safety is the key concern of the workout. All individuals are required to wear gloves and hand wraps. The Westfield Area Y has a limited supply of gloves for participants to use on a temporary basis.
The fall session runs from September 3rd – October 26th. Registration is going on now for all fall classes. Both classes are open to members and to non-members for a fee.
