On October 9 at 7:30PM in St. Helen’s Parish Center, the committee will host a presentation by Emily Wei, Policy Research Advisor, Food Security & Hunger, at Catholic Relief Services. Emily joined CRS in 2011, after finishing a two-year fellowship with the Congressional Hunger Center, where she performed research on the links between social protection and food security in Malawi with CARE, and focused on the use of cash and vouchers for food assistance with Mercy Corps. In her current role as the Policy Research Advisor for Food Security and Hunger, she helps to advance food security initiatives in the policy realm, liaising between CRS, Congress, USAID, and other NGOs to further the cause of ending hunger. She holds a Master’s degree in Public Policy from Duke University and a law degree from Fordham University in New York City. Come and learn about foreign aid and the work that CRS is doing to address hunger and other pressing issues in the developing world.
