Miracles will happen on October 5

CLARK – It’s not too late to participate in Miracles for Myeloma Race on October 5! Sheree Pask of Clark and Gina Klemm of Westfield will be on hand to greet the runners and walkers at the Saturday, October 5th event at the Oak Ridge Park in Clark.   

         The co-founders of the race are Mrs. Pask, a teacher at the Presbyterian Church in Westfield’s Nursery School and survivor of the disease that is a rare form of cancer and Westfield resident Gina Klemm, whose brother, Frank Guarino, died of the disease.

    The course, staged entirely within the Union County Park in Clark, will be run on paved paths, is USATF certified, and people of all ages are encouraged to participate in this community-wide fundraiser.

     Runners may register at the door or register online at https://online.myeloma.org/NetCommunity/miraclesformyeloma or call 732-574-9182 for more information. Entry fees are $30 per walker/ runner. Children’s fees are $15. Awards will be given for best times in various categories.  All proceeds will be donated to the International Myeloma Foundation (IMF).

     Registration will open at 7:30 a.m. with the race officially starting at 9 a.m. “I am excited that the event is coming together,” Mrs. Pask said at a Clark Kiwanis Club meeting where she and her husband are longtime members. The Kiwanis Club of Clark and their sponsored high school club, the ALJ Key Club from Johnson High School will be on hand to offer support for the race. There will be tattoos and special features for children who attend. Community service volunteers from Union Catholic High School will join in to make the morning an eventful one for all.
