The Children of China Pediatrics Foundation (CCPF) is pleased to announce its 2nd Annual Handbag Auction on Thursday, June 5th beginning at 7:00 pm at the Hanover Manor, 16 Eagle Rock Avenue in East Hanover, NJ.  Last year, the event was a success and raised $30,000 to benefit the Maurice J. Spagnoletti Rehabilitation Program. This year, the Foundation hopes to reach their goal of $100,000. Reaching their goal helps send medical teams to China to perform life-changing surgeries on orphans with disabilities and expand the Spagnoletti Rehabilitation Program to train more orphan caregivers.

Over 200 handbags will be auctioned off during a lively evening at the Hanover Manor.  All colors, shapes and sizes of handbags have been donated and are ready to complement your wardrobe. There will be handbags from designers such as Coach, Kate Spade, Michael Kors and Vera Bradley as well as handbags donated each with a special story. Enjoy dinner, drinks and a presentation of the 2014 Caregiver Award. All proceeds will benefit the Spagnoletti Rehabilitation Program, named in memory of Maurice J. Spagnoletti.

The Spagnoletti Rehabilitation Program is designed to provide training and support to orphanage medical staff members, caregivers and foster parents in China caring for children with cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy and a host of other neuromuscular disorders that debilitate and cause pain. Under the leadership of Dr. Heakyung Kim, of the New York-Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital, CCPF has partnered with the Chengdu Children’s and Women’s Hospital rehabilitation program and the Chengdu Welfare Institute to help make a difference in an orphan’s life. By supporting this evening of fashionable fun, you are helping this vital program serve children living with disorders that cause pain and debilitation, who would not otherwise have access to life-changing care.

The Children of China Pediatrics Foundation is an all-volunteer organization.  Their mission is to make an immediate and profound difference in the lives of children living in China’s orphanages by providing surgery and direct medical care to orphans as well as medical and rehabilitation training to Chinese doctors, orphanage workers, and foster care parents. Since 1998, CCPF’s medical team has provided life-changing surgeries to over 700 orphans from all over China and has helped hundreds more through non-surgical treatment plans and training.
