Edison Intermediate School Presents Little Mermaid

Edison Intermediate School proudly presents this year’s musical, The Little Mermaid, Junior.  Based on the Disney movie, the show includes a cast and crew of over one hundred talented students, under the direction of public speaking and drama teacher, Michael Altmann. Ariel, a mermaid princess, is dissatisfied with life under the sea and curious about the human world.  Along with her best fish friend, Flounder, Ariel collects human artifacts and goes to the surface of the ocean to visit Scuttle, the seagull, who offers very inaccurate knowledge of human culture. Longing to join the human world and become human herself, Ariel  ignores the warnings of her father, King Triton and his adviser, Sebastian, that contact between merpeople and humans is forbidden. She eventually finds herself in trouble with the evil sea witch, Ursula, and in love with Prince Eric.

Performances are Thursday, March 27 at 4:00 p.m. and Friday, March 28 and Saturday, March 29 at 7:30 p.m.  The Thursday matinee is a special presentation for senior citizens and elementary school students accompanied by their parents, with open seating tickets available at the door for $5.00.  Purchase reserved seating tickets for the evening performances for $8.00 pre-sale and $10.00 at the door.  Edison Intermediate School is located at 800 Rahway Avenue in Westfield, New Jersey.
