Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage Westfield East Office Supported COTA For “Cares Days”

WESTFIELD, N.J. – (June 9, 2014) – The Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage Westfield East office organized several activities to support the Children's Organ Transplant Association (COTA) in honor of Westfield resident Elle Haley during Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage Cares Days in April. During Cares Days, sales associates affiliated with all of the real estate company’s 55 offices gave back through projects such as food drives, park clean-ups, and fundraisers to assist with the medical bills of community members in need.

Sales associates affiliated with the Westfield East office took part in the Family Fun Run at Oak Ridge Park in Clark for COTA on May 17. On May 8, the office held a wine and cheese event at Jude Connally, a Westfield boutique offering modern classic clothing; the store donated 20 percent of the event's proceeds to COTA. On May 4, the office had a booth at the Westfield Spring Fling street fair, where they sold mini-cupcakes and cookies to raise awareness for COTA. Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage Westfield East also volunteered for “Purple Day” (Elle's favorite color) at Westfield High School on April 25, where kids wore purple and purchased yellow “Creating Hope and Making Miracles” bulletin board circles for $1 to show their support for COTA.

"Thanks to all for supporting the Children’s Organ Transplant Association in honor of Elle. It was much appreciated," said Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage Cares Ambassador Barbara Callahan.

Elle Haley, 15, had a successful liver transplant in August  2012. She was diagnosed with Autoimmune Hepatitis and after a harrowing bout with Sepsis, Elle received 35 percent of her dad’s liver. Today, Elle still struggles with transplant related issues such as organ rejection and immune suppressant drugs. What would be a normal cold/infection for a freshman at Westfield High School is dangerous for her. She keeps her body as strong as she can by playing tennis and swimming for the High School. COTA helps children and young adults like Elle all over the United States obtain transplants and cover transplant-related expenses. Go to www.COTAforelleh.com to learn more about how you can help.
