 t 7:00 p.m.\, the Westfield Memorial Library presents a program entitled
  &ldquo\;A Musical Salute to Molly Picon\, Star of the Yiddish Theatre.&
 rdquo\; The library is located at 550 East Broad Street.\n&nbsp\;\nDr. D
 iane Cypkin\, Professor of Media and Communication Arts at Pace Universi
 ty\, presents the music and drama of Molly Picon\, &ldquo\;the First Lad
 y of Yiddish Theatre.&rdquo\; She tells &mdash\; through English narrati
 on &mdash\; the life story of this First Lady of the Yiddish Stage throu
 gh the countless songs she sang and often wrote during her many years on
  the Yiddish stage.\nDr. Cypkin has appeared in many Yiddish language mu
 sical productions spanning more than two decades. She was Sheyne\, oppos
 ite Joseph Buloff in Ossip Dymov&rsquo\;s Yoshke muzikant (Joseph the Mu
 sician) at the Folksbiene Playhouse\; Beylke\, David Opatoshu&rsquo\;s d
 aughter\, in Sholom Aleichem&rsquo\;s Dos groyse gevins (The Big Winner)
  at the Eden Theatre\; Gitale in Ben Bonus&rsquo\;s production of Light\
 , Lively\, and Yiddish at the Belasco Theatre on Broadway\; and Tsirl in
  the Mary Soriano presentation Di yidishe tsigaynerke (The Jewish Gypsy)
  at Town Hall in New York.\nShe has done a great deal of concert work. S
 ome highlights: in New York\, in conjunction with her exhibition at Linc
 oln Center entitled\, Molly Picon: Yiddish Star\, American Star\, she pr
 esented a lecture/concert on "Molly Picon and Her Yiddish Music"\; in Wa
 shington\, D.C.\, she gave a concert of her father&rsquo\;s &mdash\; Abr
 aham Cypkin&rsquo\;s &mdash\; songs at the United States Holocaust Memor
 ial Museum when the museum presented an exhibition on the Kovno Ghetto o
 f Lithuania.\nShe is a child of survivors. In 1981\, she sang at the Wor
 ld Gathering of Holocaust Survivors in Jerusalem\, Israel. Cypkin has wo
 rked in the English-speaking theatre as both singer and actor in shows. 
 In addition\, she has directed productions of The World of Sholom Aleich
 em\, The Theatre of Peretz\, and Green Fields.\nIn 2007\, she curated th
 e aforementioned exceptionally well-received exhibition at Lincoln Cente
 r\, New York on Molly Picon. For almost 10 years she was Yiddish Theatre
  Consultant at the Museum of the City of New York and curated the highly
  successful exhibition\, A Celebration: 100 years of Yiddish Theatre in 
 New York. She is a recipient of the Kenan Award for Teaching Excellence 
 and the Pace University President&rsquo\;s "Extra Mile" Award.\nThe prog
