DESCRIPTION:Arts Guild New Jersey is offering four intensive one-day art 
 workshops for adults this winter\, two on Saturday February 23 and two o
 n Saturday March 9.&nbsp\;\nWorkshop Selections on Saturday\, Feb. 23\, 
 2013&nbsp\; &nbsp\;&nbsp\;&nbsp\; 10:00 AM &mdash\; 2:00 PM \nBOTANICAL 
 ART IN WATERCOLOR with Ruth Tietjen Councell Working directly from live 
 plant specimens\, participants will hone their drawing skills and learn 
 the secrets of the English watercolor technique to make beautiful botani
 cal paintings. Some drawing and watercolor experience are helpful. \nDYN
 AMIC FIGURE DRAWING AND ANATOMY with Julian TejeraIntended for students 
 with some life drawing experience\, this workshop will focus on better s
 eeing\, and accurately capturing on paper\, the gesture of the model. St
 udents will learn to exaggerate and enhance the pose. Demos addressing a
 natomical construction will support a better grasp of the mechanics of t

  Capturing the likeness of a person is every figurative artist's greates
 t and most\nrewarding challenge. &nbsp\;Knowing the structure and propor
 tions of the face not only helps one successfully draw a portrait\, but 
 also imbue it with personality. &nbsp\;This workshop will focus on creat
 ing a unique interpretation of a model that is true to life but also tru
 e to an artist&rsquo\;s vision.\n&nbsp\;THE ART OF PASTEL with Anne Kull
 af Working with both hard and soft pastels on sanded paper\, students wi
 ll learn basic techniques for layering color in a spontaneous and expres
 sive manner. Emphasis will be placed on form\, value\, proportion\, pers
 pective\, and color harmony. Students will work from a set up provided b
 y the instructor.&nbsp\; \nAll four Arts Guild NJ workshops will take pl
 ace from 10 AM &ndash\; 2 PM in the Senior Center Annex at 125 West Milt
 on Avenue on the corner of Esterbrook and Milton Avenues in Rahway. Each

 pants are responsible for their own materials.\nArts Guild New Jersey is
