The first Raritan Valley Rail Coalition meeting for 2101 has been scheduled for Monday, February 6th at 8:30am, in the town of Westfield Council Chambers, 425 East Broad Street, Westfield.
The featured presentation at this meeting will be Mr. Steven Santoro, Assistant Executive Director, NJ Transit Capital Planning, providing an update on the status of the engineering and funding for replacement of the portal bridge.
The meeting will also include updates on various rail projects listed in the attached meeting agenda.
A group discussion will be hosted related to the Coalition's work with NJ Transit to provide one seat ride service on the line to Penn Station New York utilizing new dual mode locomotives. A discussion will also address alerting our town to the benefits that one seat ride service would bring to the Raritan Valley line municipalities.

The Municipal Building, across from Mindowaskin Park on East Broad Street, is the seat of town government. The building houses the mayor's office, the Council Chamber/Courtroom and offices for the following departments: Town Administrator, Chief Financial Officer, Tax Collector, Tax Assessor, Municipal Court, Town Clerk, Recreation, Human Services, Health and Police. The building also houses a community room.
