 f the North Jersey Chapter of One Million Moms For Gun Control announced
  today plans for a New Jersey rally to advocate for tougher national and
  state gun control laws at 11 a.m. on Saturday\, Jan. 26\, 2013\, at Lin
 coln Park in Jersey City\, West Side and Belmont Avenues.\nBorn in the w
 ake of the devastating Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting\, the natio
 nal grassroots organization\, One Million Moms For Gun Control\, has a m
 ission of advocating for national and state action such as banning assau
 lt weapons and ammunition magazines of more than 10 rounds\, requiring b
 ackground checks for all gun purchasers\, reporting the sale of large qu
 antities of ammunition to the ATF\, and limiting the scope of concealed 
 weapons laws at the state level.\nA North Jersey chapter of the organiza
 tion has been formed by two moms who\, like other mothers around the nat
 ion\, are horrified and heartbroken by the events in Newtown\, CT. and w
 ho have banded together to fight for tougher gun control measures at the
  national level.\nOn January 26th\, the national organization of One Mil
 lion Moms For Gun Control will hold a march in the nation&rsquo\;s capit
 al to demand action. To coincide with the march\, local chapters are hol
 ding rallies aroundthe country.\n&ldquo\;We have been advocating for a f
 ederal cure for this federal plague of gun violence for years\,&rdquo\; 
 said Mayor Healy. &ldquo\;While New Jersey is often used as a model for 
 common sense gun legislation\, we know that without federal action\, we 
 will continue to lose countless lives to gun violence. We need to have o
 ur voices heard\, so that the NRA and those federal legislators who capi
 tulate to them\, will know we are just as strong as the gun lobby.&rdquo
 \;\nIn addition to Mayor Healy\, Congressman Frank Pallone (D-6th) and S
 tate Senators Lorretta Weinberg (D-37) and Ray Lesniak (D-20) are schedu
 led to speak at the rally and invitations are pending with several other
  elected officials.\n&ldquo\;One Million Moms for Gun Control NJ has bee
 n overwhelmed by the response of our New Jersey elected officials\, espe
