DESCRIPTION:Please join us for a fun\, family-friendly summer&rsquo\;s af
 ternoon performance by singer-songwriter &amp\; guitarist Gary Reed who 
 will perform in the beautiful historic garden of Macculloch Hall Histori
 cal Museum.\nMr. Reed has reemerged as an accomplished and contemporary 
 voice -- with lyrics that resonate from that earlier time.&nbsp\; An out
 standing guitar player and performer\, he is a premier fingerstyle guita
 r player and guitar champion winner who writes and plays unique solo gui
 tar arrangements ranging from Joplin to the Beatles\, New Age to Yazoo a
 nd &ldquo\;Finger Popping&rdquo\; original tunes. His style comes out of
  the 1960&rsquo\;s revival of the black blues guitar players and perform
 ed with guitar guys from New York City and San Francisco. Gary started h
 is performing career in the Village in the late sixties and early sevent
 ies being a regular player at the Bitter End\, Folk City\, Caf&eacute\; 
 Wah\, Max&rsquo\;s Kansas City\, The Village Gate and most of the clubs 
 in the Village at that time. He had the opportunity to open for some gre
 at players such as: Jerry Jeff Walker\, Billy Joel\, Randy Newman\, Joe 
 Walsh and Jeremy Steig.\n&nbsp\;\nGary will perform in the Garden at 4pm
 .&nbsp\; Visitors will have the opportunity to explore through a variety
  of summer blooms in the garden and relax on the large lawn during the p
 rogram. Guests may bring picnics\, blankets or chairs and settle back fo
 r a late afternoon of great music in a beautiful setting. Travelling Tre
 ats Ice Cream Company will have a variety of treats on sale throughout t

 ets can be purchased from 1pm on performance day and will give guests an
  opportunity to experience Macculloch Hall Historical Museum before head
 ing out to the garden for the concert.&nbsp\; The museum is open for tou
 rs of the home and galleries from 1pm\, with the last house tour leaving
  at 3pm.&nbsp\; Enjoy the current exhibit The Other Side of War: The Civ
 il War on the Home Front.&nbsp\; Life on the home front was not easy for
  loved ones whom the soldiers left behind. Women played an important rol
 e in the Union war effort\; starting the U.S. Sanitary Commission\, serv
 ing as nurses\, gathering goods and raising money for the soldiers all c
 ontributed to the Union victory. The exhibit features letters to loved o
 nes back home\, Lincoln memorabilia from the Museum's collection includi
 ng a plate from his White House china\, and a document signed by Lincoln
  as President and also by the Secretary of War.&nbsp\; The Museum will r
 emain open until 4pm when the performance begins.&nbsp\; Admission is Ad
 ults $8\; Seniors &amp\; Students $6\; Children 6 &ndash\; 12 $4. Member
 s and children under 5 are free. Please no dogs during programs in the g
 arden. We are pleased to offer accessible restroom facilities during gar
 den events this summer.&nbsp\; In the case of inclement weather the perf
 ormance will be moved indoors. The announcement will be made on the Muse
 um&rsquo\;s main phone message on performance day.\n&nbsp\;\nMacculloch 
 Hall Historical Museum preserves the history of the Macculloch-Miller fa
 milies\, the Morris area community\, and the legacy of its founder W. Pa
 rsons Todd through its historic site\, collections\, exhibits\, and educ
 ational and cultural programs. It is located in the heart of Morristown&
 rsquo\;s National Historic District.&nbsp\; The Museum is open to tour t
 he house and view exhibits on Wednesdays\, Thursdays &amp\; Sundays from
  1 to 4 p.m. General Admission: The last tickets for admission are sold 
 at 3 p.m. The museum is closed on Wednesday July 4th for the Independenc
 e Day holiday and for the Labor Day holiday on Sunday September 2nd.&nbs
