5 Mile Training
The Turkey Trot is less than two months away, and for the last three years you have said to yourself, "This year, I'm running those 5m," then, the time for the race comes and you are not prepared...
Well, not this year! Beginning on Sunday 9/30, I will post a weekly training schedule for beginners!!
Before that, you have to do a couple of things though:
1- Tell your primary care provider what your intentions are (train and run a 5m road race), and follow her advice.
2- Find a buddy (yes, misery loves company :-)
3- Start thinking of your race goal (we'll talk about this on Sun)
4-Start thinking about new running shoes (we'll talk about this later, too)
Each Sunday until the race, I will post a progressive training schedule for the coming week, and also will provide plenty of pointers on goal setting, equipment, and technique.
