You always reach for the cake mix in a box because you think its easier, right?  Well, the truth is, its just as easy to make cakes and cupcakes from scratch, if not much easier. Come join me at Ana Beall's Tea Room in Westfield on September 6th where I will provide you with simple techniques and recipes to create the perfect batch of little cakes for your family this school year!

Take the tips and tricks you learn in this class to a whole new level as we learn to decorate, stuff, and package cupcakes of all sizes.

Course Requirements

None! This class is for beginners. Bring notebooks and writing utensils for taking notes. Feel free to bring an apron, as a portion of this class will be hands on decorating!

Class Description

I will begin the class by demonstrating a versatile vanilla cake recipe and a simple buttercream recipe while discussing tips and tricks for proper baking temperatures, needed (and unnecessary) kitchen tools, and easy decorating techniques. The second portion of this class will feature some hands on time as I show you how to fill cupcakes and decorate them with a fun and festive back to school theme! 

Enjoy a sampling of tea and sweet treats during the class, provided by Open Table's newly rated Top 10 Places for Brunch, Ana Beall's Tea Room.

You will leave with the demonstrated recipes, cupcake decorating starter kit, your decorated cupcakes (packaged for safe traveling), and a few sample teas. BYOB for extra fun (we recommend champagne)!
