Explore the World of Performing Arts With On Stage Theater Camp

Mike Altmann, teacher at Edison Intermediate School, is On Stage Theater Camp's owner and senior show director.

Preparing to embark on it's 6th season, On Stage Theater Camp (formerly known as The Theater Camp of New Jersey) offers opportunities for campers, ranging in ages 5-17, to receive a complete education in the field of performing arts, while preparing for a professional stage production at the end of the four week session.  With workshops exercising skills in all aspects of theater, On Stage fosters an environment that inspires creativity, as well as nurtures individual talents and artistic strengths.  Whether it's acting, dancing, singing or set design and construction, each camper is promised an experience that will only enhance their love and passion for the performing arts. Digiplex Rialto Hosts Premiere of Ron Maxwell’s New Civil War Film 'Copperhead'

This special presentation will be the New Jersey Premiere of the movie which opens in theaters across the country a week later on June 28.Copperhead’s cast includes Billy Campbell (The Rocketeer, Killing Lincoln), Angus Macfadyen (Braveheart, Saw III) and Peter Fonda (Easy Rider, Ulee’s Gold). Westfield School District Art Show Open to Public

A sampling of hundreds of artwork created by students representing all 10 public schools and grades ranging from kindergarten through twelfth will be on display at the annual show.

The public is invited to attend the 29th annual Westfield Public School District’s Fine Arts Show, which will be held in the Westfield High School varsity gymnasium from May 14 - 16.  A sampling of hundreds of artwork created by students representing all 10 public schools and grades ranging from kindergarten through twelfth will be on display at the annual show. On Tuesday, May 14 and Wednesday, May 15 the artwork can be viewed from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., and in the evening from 7:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.  Visitors are also welcomed on Thursday, May 16, from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Graphic art, sculptures, ceramics, charcoal and pencil drawings, watercolors, fabric arts, painted furniture and other work of Westfield Public School students will be…

Westfield Mom Blogger Stars in 'Listen to Your Mother'

Live readings in honor of Mother's Day will be performed at 5 p.m. on Sunday, May 12 in New York City.

This Mother's Day Westfield mom Kim Forde will be celebrating in a unique way. The founder of the blog 'The Fordeville Diaries' will take the stage along with 19 other writers and performers who are sharing their impressions of motherhood as part of 'Listen To Your Mother,' a national series of live readings in honor of Mother’s Day. The brainchild of self-proclaimed stay-at-home-humorist Ann Imig who wanted to bring the online voices of moms in the trenches to live audiences, 'LTYM' began on Mother’s Day 2010 at The Barrymore Theatre in Madison, Wisconsin. This Sunday, 'LTYM' will be performed at 5 p.m. at Symphony Space, located at 2537 Broadway at 95th Street in Manhattan. Queen Anne Victorian Mansion Featured on May 11 Tour of Notable Homes

An authentically restored elegant Queen Anne Victorian mansion located in Plainfield New Jersey’s Van Wyck Brooks Historic District and listed in the National Register of Historic Homes, is one of five notable homes to join the Friends of Westfield Symphony Orchestra’s annual tour to benefit the orchestra on Saturday, May 11, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.  The three-story, 7,500 square foot mansion, located in an area once known as “millionaire’s row” was designed in1893 by New York architect Charles H. The Coffee With Conscience Concert Series concludes its 13th season with our usual "Ice Cream Social" and by proudly presenting Lipbone Redding and his band at 8 p.m. Saturday, May 18 at 1 East Broad Street.
