Westfield Week in Review

What happened this week in Westfield?

 

Standard & Poor's announced Monday that the ratings service has lowered its long-term rating from 'AAA' to 'AA+' on the Town of Westfield's existing general obligation bonds based on "the town's deteriorated financial performance."

Sweet Sounds Downtown Jazz Festival kicked off its season Tuesday evening. Four jazz bands were set up around town to the delight of music lovers of all ages. The series will continue every Tuesday evening through August. 

Westfield Animal Hospital has tripled its size and services. With expanded hours and three veterinarians, the office will undergo renovations this summer but will remain open during construction. 

The parking expansion project is underway at Westfield High School and Edison Intermediate School. Trees have been cut down on the high school grounds and work at Edison will begin shortly. 

The Westfield Farmer's Market begins its season today at 8:30 a.m. in the South Avenue train station parking lot.
