News and Notes
Girls Gymnastics
-Finished third in the state sectional tournament with a score of 107.225. Bishop Ahr led the way with 110.45 followed by cranford who finished with 107.55
Boys Varsity Cross Country
-Boys finished first at the state sectional with a score of 46 beating runner-up No. 12 North Hunterdon by 59 points, the biggest margin across the group four sectionals. No. 13 Ridge finished 3rd and No. 7 Hillsborough finished fourth. The girls team finished eighth with a total of 217.
-Placed five runners in the top 13 at the state sectional.
-Won its third straight Group 4 state championship with an average of 16:42.8 and was led by Jack Leathy who finsihed fifth overall. The meet was the last for retiring coach Jack Martin. For more see:Westfield Boys Cross Country Set for Meet of Champions
-Ranked fourth in New Jersey
Boys JV Cross Country
-"The junior varsity team captured first place in a field of 24 teams, with five runners finishing in the top nine. Westfield finished with 29 points and an average time of 17:22, besting second place Don Bosco, who finished with 51 points and an average time of 17:28. Westfield’s Gold Medal performance
was achieved by Jack Campbell, Tom Edwards, Dan Luzzi, Jason Colasanti, Michael Reilly, Patrick Terry, and Dalton Herzog."
