Westfield Remembers the Resignation of President Richard Nixon

It's been 35 years since Nixon resigned and Gerald Ford became the president.

This weekend marked 35 years since Richard M. Nixon resigned as the nation's 37th president and Gerald R. Ford took the oath of office as the nation's only unelected chief executive. With Nixon's resignation being back in the news this year with the "Frost-Nixon" movie, Westfield Patch talked with people gathered at the Memorial Pool on Monday morning to hear their thoughts on a period in the nation's history which was marked thirty five years ago on Sunday when President Ford said "Our long national nightmare is over."
