Westfield High School Closing at 9:30 a.m. Due to Power Outage
This will be considered a snow day.
A power outage at Westfield High School is forcing the school to close at 9:30 a.m. Friday as a winter storm descends on Westfield.
Westfield Board of Education member Mitch Slater said the outage was caused by a transformer fire on Trinity Place. This will not be considered a legal school day due to the early closure.
Power outages are being reported across Westfield. Residents are asked to call PSE&G at 1-800-436-7734 to report outages.

What a crazy morning- Liz was posting after hearing from me- As I finished letting her know that 930 would be the dismissal- the power went back on and Fire Chief gave ok to keep open
school to 1230 and then deal with the Trinity Transformer issue- Glad we have Patch to help get the word out besides my Twitter Feed (@mpslater)
