Westfield Back-to-School Guide

Open houses and welcome coffees abound throughout the district.

 

Westfield students return to school tomorrow but many can get a sneak peek at their new classrooms today. Below is a list of open houses and welcome coffees that can go a long way toward easing first-day jitters for both students and parents.

Tuesday:

Franklin School will host a 1st grade open house from 11 to 11:30 a.m.

Tamaques School will host a new family coffee at 10:30 a.m. and an open house from 11 to 11:30 a.m. 

Washington School will host a Meet & Greet from 11 to 11:30 a.m. followed by a PTO luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Edison Intermediate School's PTSO will host a reception for grades 7 and 8 at 1:15 p.m. At 2 p.m., there will be a grade 6 orientation and PTSO Parent Welcome Reception.

Roosevelt Intermediate School will host a 6th grade Open House from 3 to 4 p.m.

Wednesday:

Lincoln School schedule:

AM Kindergarten:  9:05 - 11:40

PM Kindergarten:  12:45 - 3:20

Transitional Kindergarten:  8:45 - 3:00

LEAPS AND BOUNDS I:  8:45 - 3:00

LEAPS AND BOUNDS II:  9:05 - 3:20

PRE-K AM:  8:45 - 11:15

PRE-K PM:  12:30 - 3:00

McKinley School PTO will host a welcome back coffee at 8:45 a.m. in the gym. 

Tamaques School PTO will host a welcome coffee at 8:45 a.m.

Washington School will host a Parents' First Day Coffee.

Wilson School will host a Parent Coffee 8:45 a.m.

Holy Trinity Interparochial School will host a parents' welcome coffee at 8:30 a.m. at the Westfield campus. 

Other dates to remember:

On Friday, Sept. 6, the Franklin School picnic will be held from 5 to 7 p.m.

On Monday, Sept. 10 Lincoln School PTO General Membership /Welcome Back Coffee will be held at 9:15 am and 1 p.m.

McKinley School PTO will host a back-to-school social from 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 14 in the school gym.

Westfield public schools will be closed Monday, Sept. 17 and 18 for Rosh Hashanah and Wednesday, Sept. 26 for Yom Kippur.
