The Week Ahead: Westfield Students Go Back to School

What's happening this week in Westfield?

 

Monday:

In honor of Labor Day, many offices and businesses will be closed. The Westfield Memorial pool will end its season today. Pool hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Tuesday:

The Westfield Area Chamber of Commerce will host a complimentary coffee/tea and light breakfast at 8 a.m at Turning Point for business professionals from the surrounding towns for networking purposes.

Schools throughout the district will host open houses for incoming students. The following is a list of locations and times:

Franklin School will host a 1st grade open house from 11 to 11:30 a.m.

Tamaques School will host an open house from 11 to 11:30 a.m. 

Edison Intermediate School's PTSO will host a reception for grades 7 and 8 at 1:15 p.m. At 2 p.m. there will be a grade 6 orientation & PTSO Parent Welcome Reception.

Roosevelt School will host a 6th grade Open House from 3 to 4 p.m.

Wednesday:

Holy Trinity Interparochial School will host a parents' welcome coffee at 8:30 a.m. at the Westfield campus. 

The scheduled Planning Board Meeting to be held at 7:30 p.m. held in the Council Chambers in the Municipal Building has been cancelled and rescheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 12. 

Thursday:

The public is invited to the ribbon-cutting ceremony for Westfield High School Fitness Center. Stop by to see the new facility starting at 7 p.m.

The monthly meeting of the American Legion will begin at 7:30 p.m.

Friday:

First Friday @ Galeria West continues at 7 p.m.with an evening of the unique South American Folk Tango music fusion sounds by the acclaimed Yas Cortes Duo in concert.
