The Westfield Community Concert Band presented their second centennial summer concert with the sounds of American Patriotism at the Mindowaskin Park Thursday.
Hundreds gathered to witness the band, joined alongside the Sons and Daughter of the American Revolution, in the special Independence Day-themed event.
The evening was a celebration not only of America, but also of the prestigous 100th season of the Westfield Community Band, who paid homage to the original band through vintage photography.
"It really is something special to see the traditions of the Community Band kept alive," said conductor Dr. Thomas N. Connors. "Thanks to the support of the community, it was a fantastic milestone to achieve."
Perfomances from the evening included songs from the musical Oklahoma! and classics such as "America the Beautiful" and "God Bless America."
The band will be performing two more concerts this season on Thursday, July 12 and Thursday, July 19.
