I remember a long time ago when homes in the premiere location on the Southside, Stoneleigh Park, were comparable in price to higher end homes on the Northside (excluding Kimball Circle). With all these $2+ million Northside homes, far higher than recent sales in Stoneleigh, it makes one wonder if the Southside is now paying an unfair share of town property taxes relative to the Northside (higher taxes relative to home market value).

Could this be because a fire engine can't make it around Stonleigh Park?

If you look at the top 5, they are listed by 4 of the brokers (and 1 of them has 2 of the listings) with the highest number of "reduced priced homes" of any in Westfield
#6, 940 Minisink Way is the only realistic one. Sold fof $2.8M in 2007, asking $2.4M now
#7 is probably about right now, but it was already cut $200K from the price in this article. So that means that no one has even come close to the new asking price, s it will probably sell for less
As for south side property values. So you are basing your south side tax reduction on a single street on the south side falling out of favor?
I had a prof in college that suggested this is how assessments should work (and taxes of course). Everyone register their own property value with the township. The catch is that you HAVE to sell you house anyone offering 120% of your home value. So you can lie and low ball the town, but then someone else can just buy the house close to the low ball estimate
