The five-and-a-half-year-old Prospect Street coffeehouse is owned by Westfield residents Lance and Lisa Marvin.
So what does it take to brew up a great java joint?
"I think the secret to our success is that my wife Lisa and I have operated the store ourselves since we opened it in October 2006," Marvin said. "It's your classic mom-and-pop shop and not some corporate entity. We have a personal interest in it. We care about the products and we do everything we can to take care of our customers."
Living and working in town, the Marvins make it a priority to give back to the community by contributing to local churches and schools. The store also holds drives where those who donate pet supplies will get something in return: a free cup of Joe.
Upon hearing the news that Rockn' Joe had taken the crown, manager Ashley Castore said, "That's awesome!" though she wasn't surprised. The barista shared what she believes are the winning ingredients to serving up a successful coffeehouse.
"The secret is amazing coffee paired with great food and a fun atmosphere," Castore said. "The albums on the walls and the music are all part of it and the desserts don't hurt either."
Another thing that she believes separates Rockin' Joe from its competition is the Brew Rail menu. Each featured coffee is from small, independent micro farm in a different country.
While Castore said the most popular beverage among Rockn' Joe's customers is the Milky Way Cappuccino, her personal favorite is an Iced Soy Hazelnut Latte.
"I just had one and in a while I'm going to have another one," she said.
