Police Blotter: Used Tires In Disarray, Not Stolen

A look at the week in police activity.

One business on South Avenue reported an individual rummaging in a trailer containing used tires, but found that no tires were stolen in the incident.

April 7

John Butner Jr., 22, of Roselle Park was arrested for possession of under 50 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia following a motor vehicle stop at Livington and Stirline. He was processed and released.

A business of the 500 block of Westfield avenue reported the theft of an X-Box. valued at $339 from their office. The theft occurred on March 29 between 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

Kunwar E. Singhbabh, 27, of Westfield was arrested on a $50 Union Township warrant following a motor vehicle stop at South Avenue East and Cacciola. He was processed and posted bail.

An employee on the 300 block of South Avenue East reported an unknown person was rummaging through a white trailer located in the rear of the property. The trailer contains used tires that will be sold. The tires were in disarray and thrown about the trailer. There are no signs of forced entry and no tires are missing from the trailer. The detective bureau is investigating.

Brett G. Williams, 21, of Jersey City was arrested on a warrant issued by the sheriff of Hudson County following a motor vehicle stop at South Avenue and Hort Street. He was held and transported to the sheriff of Hudson County.

Cindy Alves, 23, of Kenilworth was arrested for possession of cocaine and possession of marijuana following a motor vehicle stop at East Broad and Hampton. She was processed and released.

April 8

Walter Sforca Jr., 19, of Union Township was arrested for possession of under 50 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia following a motor vehicle stop at East Broad and Prospect. He was processed and released.

April 9

James Hoffernon, 20, of Westfield was arrested on a $209 Scotch Plains warrant following a motor vehicle stop at North Avenue West and Lenox. He was processed and released.

Kevin Burrell, 23, of Westfield was arrested on a $304 Westfield warrant and a $184 Fanwood warrant at the Scotch Plains police department. He was transported to Westfield, processed and released.

Heber Recarte, 24, of Perth Amoby was arrested on an administrative warrant issued by the U.S. Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement. The arrest came after a motor vehicle stop at North and Clark. He was transported to ICE agents.

April 12

James Padilla, 28, of Piscataway was arrested on the 600 block of South Avenue West on an Elizabeth warrant. He was processed and transported to Elizabeth.

Guy Ferrara, 41, of Westfield was arrested on Westfield and Old Bridge warrants. He was processed and released.

Robyn Morgan, 54, of Mountainside was arrested and charged with DWI and careless driving after being involved in a motor vehicle accident om North Avenue near the interesection with Central Avenue. She was process and released to a responsible adult.

A resident from the 800 block of Clark Street reported the theft of their bicylce from the north side of the train station. The theft occurred between 7:30 a.m. and 7:15 p.m. on April 12. The bike is a gray Trek brand mountain bike valued at $500.

April 13

Derrick Lee of Jersey City was arrested on Westfield and Newark warrants. The subject is due to appear in Westfield town court.

April 14

Milagros Flores, 40, was arrested for DWI following a motor vehicle accident investigation at South and Watterson. He was released to a responsible adult.

April 15

A resident of the 800 block of Carleton Road reported an act of criminal mischief to their motor vehicle while it was parked in front of a house on 100 block of North Chestnut Street. The side mirror glass was scratched with an unknown object. The damage is valued at $100.
