Police Blotter: Home Break-In on Carleton Road
The following information was obtained from the Westfield Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.
June 20 – John Diaz, 74, was arrested and charged with leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident that involved a fatality. Diaz was released on bail of $25,000 (10 percent allowed). Diaz was arrested as a result of a crash and investigation that occurred on Jan. 25, 2012 at the intersection of W. North Avenue and Tuttle Parkway in which Diaz was operating a motor vehicle and was charged with driving while intoxicated.
Charles Casiere, 84, was arrested and charged with death by auto and assault by auto. Casiere was released on bail of $50,000 (10 percent allowed). Casiere was arrested as a result of a crash and investigation on Jan. 25, 2012 at the intersection of W. North Avenue and Tuttle Parkway in which Casiere was operating a motor vehicle and was charged with driving while intoxicated.
A resident of the 500 block of Carleton Road reported a burglary to their residence between the hours of 5:45 a.m. and 6:20 p.m. Suspect(s) forcibly entered by prying and proceeded to rummage through the dwelling. Suspect(s) stole approximately $2,120 worth of property, including jewelry, currency and a laptop. Suspect(s) apparently left the residence via the point of entry.
June 21 – Dean St. Clair, 43, of Plainfield, was arrested for shoplifting at an establishment on the 600 block of W. North Avenue. St. Clair left the store without paying for a pair of Polo sunglasses (value: $150). St. Clair was released on his own recognizance with a summons and a court date scheduled for July 12.
June 23 – Tyrell Ferguson, 26, of Plainfield, was arrested for the possession of marijuana under 50 grams pursuant to a motor vehicle stop at W. South Avenue and Crossway Place. Subject was transported to headquarters, processed and released on his own recognizance.
June 25 – Criminal mischief to a motor vehicle was reported on the 500 block of W. South Avenue.
