Police Blotter: DUI, Theft and an Airgun

Several were arrested for oustanding warrants.

November 20 -

James Sykes-Griffin, 37 of Plainfield, was found to have a fugitive warrant issued from Middlesex County. The arrest was made following a traffic stop at South Windsor Avenue.

Scott Desch, 38 of Westfield, was arrested for DUI at a motor vehicle stop. Suspect was taken to Westfield Police Department, processed and released to a responsible to adult.

November 21 -

A Westfield resident reported a theft of a black and yellow Schwinn mountain bike from the S.S. Train Station bicycle rack. The theft occurred between 6:50 a.m. and 11 a.m. The value of the bicycle was approximately $300.

November 23 -

Karen McMillan Hernandez, 44 of Elizabeth, was arrested on the 1200 block of W. South Avenue for possession of marijuana (less than 50g). Suspect was taken to Westfield Police Department, processed and released on bail.

Leonor Villanueva, 52 of Osprey or Old Bridge, was arrested for outstanding traffic warrants pursuant to a motor vehicle stop at North Avenue and Lenox Avenue. The warrants had been issued from Old Bridge Municipal Court ($500), Matawan Municipal Court ($228) and Newark Municipal Court ($500)
for a total of $1,228. Suspect was processed and released on her own recognizance from all jurisdictions.

Ricardo Dias, 36 of Hoboken, was arrested for an outstanding traffic warrant ($86). Suspect was released on posted bail after being processed at Westfield Police Department.

November 26 -

Salvador Rivera-Santos, 35 of Plainfield, was arrest for outstanding traffic warrants after a motor vehicle stop at Central Avenue and E. South Avenue. The warrants had been issued from Fanwood Municipal Court ($265), Red Bank Municipal Court ($201) and Plainfield Municipal Court ($150) for a total of $616. Suspect posted bail for the Red Bank and Plainfield warrants. Suspect was released on his own recognizance for the Fanwood warrant.

Victor Wikander, 24 of South River, was arrested for DWI pursuant to motor vehicle between Myrtle Avenue and Boulevard. Suspect was processed and released to a sober adult.

November 25 -

Resident of 500 Block of Woodland Avenue reports being victim of identity theft. Actor allegedly opened numerous credit card in a victim's name.

November 26 -

Karen Terrace resident reported being victim of burglary. Unknown actor removed unknown items of unknown value from residence.

Alexander Dearaijo, 21, of Elizabeth, was arrest for possessing CDS and drug paraphernalia pursuant to a motor vehicle stop at 600 W. South Avenue. Upon further investigation, subject had two outstanding warrants for arrest from Elizabeth Municipal Court in amount of $468. Suspect was released on his own recognizance and was issued a summons.

November 27 -

Resident of 800 Block of Kimball Avenue reported a theft of an iPhone and iPod while left unsecured in establishment on 200 Block of Clark Street. The approximate value of the devices was $350.00.

Julia Julies, 18 of Westfield, was arrested for disorderly person, resisting arrest and obstruction of law pursuant to motor vehicle investigation. Suspect was processed, released on her own recognizance and was issued a summons.

Dennis Jackson, 20 of Willingboro, was arrested for possession of CDS pursuant to motor vehicle stop at North and Hillcrest avenues. Suspect was released and issued a summons after being processed.

Matt Piedl, 24 of Springfield, was arrested for DWI, pursuant to motor vehicle stop at South Avenue and Sussex Street. Suspect was processed and released on his own recognizance to a responsible adult.

November 29 -

Resident of 1000 Block of Irving Avenue reported an act of criminal mischief between 6 p.m. on Nov. 28 and 8 a.m. on Nov. 29. Suspect(s) allegedly cut Christmas lights display in front of residence. Approximate value of the damage was $80.

December 1 -

Colleen Pfifle, 38 of Jersey City, was stopped at motor vehicle stop at W. North Avenue and Prospect Street. Suspected was wanted by Bergen County Sheriff Department on a no bail civil contempt warrant. Suspect was processed and turned over to BCSO.

December 2 -

Resident of 500 Block of Highland Avenue found a black airsoft gun in their backyard. There were no serial numbers or other identification on the gun.

Thomas Pizarro, 31 of Garwood, was arrested on outstanding traffic warrant ($89) issued by Garwood Municipal Court. Suspect was released after posting full cash.
