Police Blotter: Calling Home Depot

The following information was obtained from the Westfield Police Department. An arrest does not mean a conviction.

A resident of Downer Street will need to run over to Home Depot to pick-up a new ratchet set, after their's was stolen.

Carine Simeon, 30, of Roselle was arrested on a $500 Westfield warrant following a motor vehicle stop on St. Paul Street. She was processed and released.

A resident on the 600 block of Downer Street reported a theft from their property within the past couple of months. The items removed include six solar lawn lights totaling $18 and a $150 ratchet set. Damage was also done to the driveway with “rake locking” marks being found on the driveway.

Alehandro Castro, 20, was arrested for possession of under 50 grams of marijuana following a motor vehicle stop on the 600 block of Central Avenue.

Aug. 6

Justin Cox, 24, of Short Hills was arrested on a $350 Point Pleasant warrant following a motor vehicle stop at West Broad and Osborn. 

Aug. 7

Brendel McDonald, 20, of Poughkeepsie, NY was arrested of possession of under 50 grams of a controlled dangerous substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was processed and released. 

Aug. 8

A Westfield resident reported that the rear tire of his bike was stolen while the bike was locked to the rack on the north side of the train station. 

Aug. 9

Samantha Bore, 18, of Westfield was arrested on the 300 block of North Scotch Plains Avenue for assaulting a police officer. She was processed and released.

Ryan Bora, 29, of Westfield was arrested on the 1000 block of Rahway Avenue of DWI. Officer responded to an accident of a motor vehicle hitting a parked car. The investigation led to his arrest. He was process and released.

Bobby Lee Reaves Jr., 41, of Jersey City was arrested at the Hudson County jail on a $1,010 Westfield warrant. He was transported to the Westfield jail and unable to post bail. He was held pending an appearance before the town judge on Aug. 10.

Aug. 11

Several windows were broken in the back of a building on the 1200 block of Boulevard. 

Colin MacKay of Westfield reported to the police department to satisfy an active $150 traffic warrant from Springfield.

Aug. 12

Michael Martinez, 20, of Edison was arrested during a motor vehicle stop on a $114 Madison warrant. He was processed and released.

A resident of the 100 block of Cacciola reported the theft of a black BMX style bike with blue handlebars. The theft occurred between 11:30 p.m. and 11:50 p.m. The bike is valued at $200.
