Parents and pita fans will have some new offerings to sample soon in downtown Westfield.

Kidville, coming to 109 E. Broad St., and Pita Grill and Creperie, occupying 108 Quimby St., are slated to open within the next few months.

"Kidville is a one-stop shop, if you will, for parents," said Sherry Cronin, executive director of the Downtown Westfield Corporation.

According to its website, Kidville will feature a wide range of developmental classes for newborns through six year olds, including Rockin’ Railroad, Run Wiggle Paint & Giggle, My Big Messy Art Class, Big Muscles for Little Babies, Kidville Gymnasts, Kidville Sports, Camp Kidville and Kidville University (Kidville's Pre-School Alternative Program). Kidville also offers an indoor playspace and birthday parties for children up to age nine. 

Decorated with vibrant colors and familiar geometric shapes, Kidville, with franchises on the East and West Coast, was started by mom Shari Misher Stenzler, co-founder of London Misher Public Relations. When Misher Stenzler found herself carrying a baby and a stroller down a long flight of stairs after their first music class, she recognized the need for a facility that was both parent and child friendly. After polling friends and fellow parents, she established the business in 2003 and opened the first Kidville in New York City's Upper East Side in 2005. Kidville is expected to open in Westfield mid-winter. 

Fans of Mediterrean fare can get their fix at the Pita Grill and Creperie. Opening in the space formerly occupied by Homemade Pizza Co., Pita Grill is a family-owned business with multiple locations. Patrons can look forward to Mediterranean/Middle-Eastern-style cuisine, organic and made from scratch. Falafel, shawarma, American gyro, hummus, pita sandwiches, beef, lamb and chicken kebobs will be among the eatery's offerings. In addition, the Grill features sweet and savory crepes. Family deals, featuring entrees and multiple side dishes that feed 4 to 10 people, are available to go. To view the  full menu, visit the fast food restaurant's website.  

"I think it'll be an interesting mix that they offer there," Cronin said.
