A Westfield juvenile male who is a student at Roosevelt Intermediate School was found possessing a knife on school grounds during school hours on Nov. 18.
Police records indicate that teachers at the school came to believe the student was in possession of a knife after obtaining information indicating the student had brought a knife to school with him. An internal investigation was then conducted, which determined that a knife was in the student's pocket.
After the knife was secured, the police were notified and responded to the scene. The student's father was also contacted and he responded to the school. The police will continue an investigation into the incident.
