First Sound Station Benefit to be Held Friday
Backpack Superheroes will play 9 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 3 at The Stanley Cup in Linden.
The first of several concerts that will benefit the owners of Sound Station will take place at 9 p.m. Friday at The Stanley Cup in Linden.
The South Avenue West family-owned music emporium was one of six businesses lost to a six-alarm blaze that began Sunday, Jan. 22 at caterers Clyne & Murphy.
Tickets are $5 per person with all proceeds being donated.
A second benefit is planned for April 21 to coincide with Record Store Day. The all-day concert will take place at Crossroads in Garwood.
The April benefit will feature an all-ages matinee as many of the music store's patrons are underage but want to support the shop. A 21-and-over show will take place in the evening.
Nearly $13,000 has been raised for the owners through the fundraising website http://www.indiegogo.com/helpsoundstation.
