CoolVines Pairs With Pairings for Four-Course Dinner
The all-inclusive wine dinner will begin at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 22.
Westfield wine shop CoolVines has partnered with Cranford's Pairings to offer oenophiles and gourmands a one-of-a-kind dining experience.
At 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 22, the two will come together to host an all-inclusive four-course wine dinner at the restaurant, located at 1 South Avenue East in Cranford, at a cost of $70 per person.
CoolVines' Lauren Ramos explained that the wine purveyor's general manager, Cheryl Rush, approached Pairings to see if the owners would be interested in collaborating.
"They were very excited to jump on board and work together," Ramos said. "Gal Keren, from Santa Armosa (one of CoolVines distributors) had come to us at about the same time with some fantastic Southern Italian wines, perfect for pairing with delicious cuisine, and mentioned that he really wanted to put a dinner together with us and feature these wines. So it all kind of came together nicely."
Ramos addded that the menu, listed below, is "going to be fabulous."
To begin - black mission fig caesar salad + gorgonzola cheese
granny smith apples, toasted walnuts, lime-honey vinaigrette

Pasta fresca - scallop provençale + black pepper speckled fettuccine
pasta made with goffle road eggs, italian "oo" farina, durum semolina + whole wheat flour
diver scallop, braised fennel, tomatoes, chablis infused broth, red pepper rouille

No reservations will be taken without full payment made at least 24 hours in advance and 48 hour cancellation notice is required for full refund (by August 20, 2012 7 p.m.). Cancellations received after that time will result in a refund at the sole discretion of CoolVines. No-shows will not receive a refund. The $70 price includes $50 to the restaurant and $20 to CoolVines. Customers are welcome to bring their own wine should they prefer, and tickets for food-only can be purchased directly from Restaurant. For customers purchasing the dinner/wine combination, $20 of the $70 from each member of your party will be used to purchase one or more of the bottles selected for this dinner, and groups will be encouraged to share bottles so that all attendees may have the opportunity to sample each wine. Wine purchased for this dinner from CoolVines will be delivered to you at the Restaurant for your enjoyment.
